Wall Township to welcome end of harvest season

The Historic Village at Allaire offers the public a way to take a step back in time, and its upcoming celebration will mark the end of the harvest season.

This Wall Township attraction will be adding some extra fun to September by holding its Fall Apple Fest, which will provide a glimpse into how the families that were employed by the Howell Iron Works took some time for themselves. There will be hands-on fun, and it was explained that tickets must be purchased in advance.

The plans for the day will show how a small community would have made the most of the season by pressing apple cider and preparing pies and other baked goods to share. There will be games to play as well as historical demonstrations, and a modern day food truck will be available. Anyone who would like to put their baking skills to the test can enter the pie baking contest, and everyone can shop in the General Store and Bakery.

One of the ways a museum or other organization can add to the historical flavor of an event is by ordering period-style materials from local poster printing companies. There will be many options for this, and they may include a custom graphic design.

The Historic Village at Allaire will be welcoming the end of the harvest season on Saturday, September 17. All ages can enjoy the festivities.
