Wall Township to celebrate with historic-themed harvest

After a busy harvest season, many small communities would often pause to celebrate, and a Wall Township experience will take a step back in time to a traditional style fall festival.

The Historic Village at Allaire will be reproducing a harvest festival, which will be very much like the ones that would have been enjoyed by workers at Howell Iron Works and others in the area. There will be lots of hands on activities, and while it will have historic flavor, just like today, a request has been made by the organizers that masks be worn.

The staff at the function will offer the guests a chance to try out pressing apple cider, making pies, games and other fun, and there will be costumed villagers strolling through the grounds. A variety of demonstrations of trades such as blacksmithing have been planned, and food trucks, the site’s general store , bakery and many of its buildings will be open to the ticket holders to browse through.

Banners and bunting were often used as decorations during this sort of event, and this is still true today. Banner printing companies can supply both of these as well as an assortment of their items that have been custom designed so they fit in with the historic feel of the day.

The Historic Village at Allaire will welcome one and all for this harvest celebration on September 18th. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and start at $4.00.
