Monmouth Medical Center will be hosting a Tree Lighting Reception and Ceremony in just a few weeks.
The ceremony is being organized by the Valerie Fund Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, which is part of the Unterberg Children’s Hospital. The event is to honor the joint effort of Make Some Noise: Cure Kids Cancer Foundation, together with Monmouth Medical Center. The overall campaign is called ‘Go Gold for Pediatric Cancer’.
NJNews4You references the American Childhood Cancer Organization, saying that American boys have a 1-in-300 possibility of receiving a cancer diagnosis before he turns 20 years old, while a girl’s chance is closer to 1-in-333. However, 3% or less of federal funding for cancer research is spent on pediatric cancer.
The goal of the Go Gold campaign is to increase childhood cancer awareness, as well as bring attention to important research funding needs. September is nationally recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
During awareness campaigns like this, many companies use printing services to create Brochures and Flyers that cover points of the campaign, and the work that it is trying to support. These may extend to local areas like Wall Township.
The event will occur at the main entrance for Monmouth Medical Center, from 6pm to 8:15pm on September 15. Speakers will include families who have used the services of The Valerie Fund Children’s Center.
