Plant sale to provide gardening inspiration

A Wall Township area garden club is preparing to host a fundraising sale, just in time for Mother’s Day.

The Sea Lavender Garden Club of Manasquan is preparing for a special event that will help area home horticulturalists to add some new stock to their garden. This will be combined with a bake sale that will boast breads, cookies cakes and other sweets prepared by the club’s members right in their own kitchens.

Members of the public will be able to go home with a variety of annuals. Hanging baskets in an assortment of sizes, along with patio planters, will all be on offer. Herbs in pots will be available as well, and tomato transplants are also on the list of plants on sale. It may be an opportunity for balcony gardeners to purchase their springtime selections, with prices varying depending on the species.

The planner of the day explained that a portion of the monies raised will help to provide scholarships for local students. A banner printing company will be able to offer signage that can help to build the buzz about a function like this, aiding in ensuring it will be a success.

This chance to find a living or tasty gift for Mom will be popping up on Saturday, May 8. It is set to be hosted in Curtis Park in Manasquan.
