Adventure seekers in Manasquan, and nearby Wall Township, can jump into the frigid Atlantic to support a good cause in a couple of weeks’ time.
The ninth annual Valentine Plunge, otherwise known as the ‘Ultimate Ice Bucket Challenge’, will help benefit those affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
People can join a team or register as an individual. Participants can make a fundraising goal to work towards and anyone can make a donation.
To take part in the event, prospective ‘Plungers’ need to raise a minimum of $100. Those who raise $100 will receive a T-shirt. There is additional swag for higher fundraising amounts, such as scarves, beach towels, and robes. A banner printing service has likely been asked to create large Signs to welcome participants to the plunge.
A ‘Valentine’s Plunge Pre-Party’ and pre-registration event will go down on February 13 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Event day registration will take place at 10:00 am until 11:30 am. Both events will be held at Leggett’s Sand Bar and Restaurant, located on 217 First Avenue in Manasquan. Leggett’s is also the host of the post-event awards and other activities.
Participants can take the plunge on February 14 at noon on Main Beach. In the event of snow, the event will be moved to February 28. To find out more, call 732-690-5929.Get a Free Quote for Signs
