What's Happening in Wall Township, NJ…

Heroes Run hosted by Wall Township

For the second year, the Wall Township Municipal Complex recently played host to the ‘Heroes Run’, which is dedicated to honoring the memory of 1st Lt. Travis Manin, who was a United States Marine.

The run began at 8:11 am, with both the start and finish line decorated bay large American flags, while a helicopter for the state of New Jersey landed in a soccer field adjacent to the race course to help show their support for those who had chosen to take part.

Many of those who did were former or currently serving military members. Along with the main race, there was also a one-mile course for those who preferred to walk. Once that was over, the participants were given refreshments and awards were handed out to the top runners. A print company can create these awards, as well as special certificates to give out to those who chose to donate their time and effort by participating.

Assemblyman Dave Rible addressed the crowd before the start to of the race to both encourage them and thank them for coming out. The event was organized by Joshua Glantzman, who is a student at Wall High School. He also spoke to the participants and told them how the organization would lend support to first responders, veterans, and also their families should they need it.
