Language delays can occur in children for a variety of reasons, and an online program will give parents tools they can use to aid their child.

Speech and Hearing Associates, which has a branch in Secaucus, will be offering the It Takes Two to Talk® Hansen Program. As it will take place online, everyone can participate from home or wherever else they wish, and it is intended for parents or guardians of kids who are age five and under.

This workshop series will include eight small group sessions that will run for two and a half hours each, and they will be facilitated by a speech language pathologist (SLP). Along with this, the families will also engage in the one-on-one sessions where they will receive individual attention from an SLP.

The host of the event explained that the techniques taught will be evidence based, and the event can be used on its own or as part of a larger language therapy program. Stationery printers can work with the host of an event like this to prepare a variety of assistive materials that can aid children with speech delays, such as speech pacing strips and cards.

Registrations for this virtual program are now being accepted, and it will start on January 21st. Additional support for anyone who needs it can be obtained by contacting the Secaucus office of Speech and Hearing Associates.
