Secaucus’ Buchmuller Park is hosting a performance by The Cameos this September.
The performance represents the official send-off for the Secaucus Summer Concert Series, which featured a number of bands throughout the summer, including tribute bands of Fleetwood Mack, Neil Diamond and Elvis, among others.
As for The Cameos, the seven-member ensemble has deep local roots, as the band has existed in one form or another in the New Jersey area since 1957.
The latest iteration of the band is led by drummer Paul Stuart, having taken over from Roger DelRusso’s leadership after his passing back in 2005.
Stuart has kept the same approach that DelRusso established, bringing oldies hits to audiences while each band member is dressed in matching suits and ties.
Ever since Stuart took the reins, the band has ascended to new heights in terms of popularity, having performed for crowds of 10,000 people in a single show.
The band members include Stuart, who leads the band and keeps its rhythm as its percussionist, vocalists John Basilone, Dan Urgarte, Bobby D’Angelo, keyboardist and vocalist Arno Petronzio, rhythm guitar and lead vocalist Jamie Bannon and bass guitarist and vocalist Sammy Monaco.
Concerts like this may choose to use banner printing to create marquees, stage decorations and vendor Signs.
The Cameos are playing on September 3 at 7 pm at Buchmuler Park at 150 Plaza Center in Secaucus.
