Secaucus toy and food drive underway

The Secaucus PBA Local 84 is once again holding its annual toy drive, and area residents are asked to lend a hand.

According to Joseph Kickey, who is one of the event organizers, the drive has been held for many years, and seeing the happy faces of the children who receive the gifts makes it all worthwhile.

Anyone who would like to make a donation is asked to contribute a new and unwrapped toy, a new item of clothing, toiletries, blankets, and nonperishable food. The items collected go to needy families, to ill children who are in the hospital, and also those kids who are staying in the St. Jude Homeless Shelter.

Kickey further went on to say that the locals are always very generous and giving, and he hopes that this year will be no different. Holiday Cards can be set out to residents reminding them about the toy and food drive and asking them to lend a hand.

Drop-off locations have been created in the lobby of the Public Library and Business Canter, the Recreation Center, the Town Hall, and both Clarendon and Huber Street Schools. The collection Boxes will be in place until December 18. Those who would prefer to make a cash or gift card donation, or who need to have their items picked up, can call 201-866-1633 and leave a message.
