Shredding sensitive documents is an important step in home security, and this service will be performed thanks to the Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA).
Secaucus residents are invited to take advantage of a shredding event that has been organized by the HCIA. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, it will be a contactless activity, and the organizers have explained that it will be an opportunity for people to get rid of paper clutter in a secure way.
Items accepted for drop off include letters, bank statements, receipts, credit card and tax paperwork, and pay stubs. Staff performing the service will be licensed, bonded, and trained. The shreds may then be used to craft new paper and other products, which means the waste will be kept out of landfills, benefiting the environment.
Binder clips, binders, cardboard, and Books will not be accepted, and participants are reminded that items for shredding must be placed in Boxes or Bags for pick-up from the vehicle's trunk.
Informing the public that this sort of service is on offer in their area is important. A poster printing company will be able to help with this, and in keeping with the theme of the day, it may be possible to reuse the Posters or at least recycle them.
The HCIA has scheduled this fall shredding day for Saturday, November 6. The drop-off point will be set up at the parking lot of Secaucus High School.
