New members sought for Secaucus area volunteer group

A Secaucus area community is seeking new members for one of its first responder units, and anyone who is considering joining may want to make sure they attend an upcoming morning activity.

The team at Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps (GRVAC) have put out a call to the local area to let the public know they are looking for new additions to its ranks. The function has been planned as part of the national EMS Week, which is an initiative that recognizes the role first responders play in their communities.

During the morning, the attendees will be able to meet with the GRVAC crew face to face, and they will be happy to discuss their work, including its challenges and benefits. They will learn more about the process of becoming a volunteer emergency medical technician (EMT), how they may qualify to have their training tuition covered and also how their shifts can be scheduled to accommodate other commitments. They will learn about the typical calls the group receives, and there will be an equipment display as well.

An information session provides an introduction to a particular group or topic, but it may leave the participants eager to find out more. Workshop packages filled with materials crafted by a brochure printing company are often handed out during this sort of occasion.

The GRVAC will be giving potential new members an opportunity to learn more about it and how it operates is scheduled for May 21.
