The Meadowlands Exhibition Center recently played host to an event that gave residents of Secaucus and the surrounding communities a glimpse into the planet’s prehistoric past.
The displays that were set up included a variety of animatronic and stationary dinosaurs surrounded by vegetation and highlighted with lighting and other special effects. This gave visitors a chance to see what they may have really looked like, and the stationary models were of museum quality.
Those who came out were also given a scavenger hunt list – the sort of item that could be produced by a Stationery printing company – so that they could find each of the dinosaurs on display for themselves and learn interesting facts about them.
One of the activities that proved to be especially popular was the triceratops and T-rex rides. They gave the crowd an opportunity to “ride” them while providing an unusual photo op. There was also a dino dig, a dino theater, mini golf, inflatables, fossil and mineral panning, face painting, and a coloring station.
For the younger children who may have found the full-sized models a little scary and overbearing, there was a “dino den” with plenty of soft and cuddly dinosaurs for them to enjoy.
Admission for adults, seniors, and older children ranged from $21 to $24, while kids under the age of two were admitted free of charge.
