Town to walk for charity

Locals in Manalapan will want to participate in the MS New Jersey Metro Walk 2015-Manalapan coming up very soon.

The goal this year is to raise $109,200. The entire route is about 3.1 miles long, which equates to about 5K. However, there will be three shorter loops built in that run one, two, and three miles.

Refreshments and water will be available at the start/finish line. Families and friends will want to get their banner printing done in time to cheer on their favorite runners at the halfway ‘Cheer Zone’. Runners who finish the course will receive Walk MS medals, and those who accumulate $125 or more can pick up their T-Shirts at check-in.

Teams are encouraged to sign up for two reasons, with the idea being that they can have more fun and that teams tend to raise more money than individual participants. Also, teams can win awards and prizes and team photos will be taken. Teams must have at least four members, but there will be no limit to how large a team can get.

The walk will be on Sunday, April 19 at Monmouth Battlefield State Park, 16 New Hersey 33 Business, Manalapan Township. The venue opens at 9:00 am and the walk begins at 10:00 am. This event will take place rain or shine.
