The last performance of Manalapan’s Summer Concert Series is coming up fast.
As one of Manalapan’s end-of-summer traditions, the year’s finale will be a performance by the band Undercover NJ.
Undercover NJ, composed of New Jersey natives from Fair Haven, will be presenting dance music from the past. They will be playing Motown from the 60s, disco from the 70s, rock and pop from the 80s and 90s, and throwing in a little Hip Hop.
Donna Johnson, the female vocal lead, has been with the group for six years now and says she hopes to see everyone out on the lawn dancing. Her vocals will be backed by William’s Fammelli on sax, Gary Paone on bass guitar, Nick Masi on keyboards and piano, ‘Uncle’ Frank Calandrino on drums, and Alex McDonald on guitar.
Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, family, and friends. Since this will be the last event for the summer, some flyer printing could be done to pass the word along.
The event is scheduled rain or shine for Friday, August 21, at 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm on the Manalapan Recreation Center Great Lawn, County Road 522. This is at the intersection of Freehold Road and Taylor’s Mill Road, Manalapan
