The Backyard Experience LLC will be holding its annual Gingerbread House Contest and Movie in mid-December. Many families in the Manalapan area just may be making this one of their annual traditions.
Everyone is invited to join in the gingerbread house building contest. Kits are included and there will be a hot cocoa station to have something to drink during the breaks. Other drinks, snacks and food will be available for sale. Kids can get their faces painted and a certain someone will make a special appearance to have pictures taken with the little ones.
The winner of the contest will receive a prize and bragging rights.
General admission will be $40, or $30 with a donation of a toy for area kids in group homes and foster care. These admission tickets and other monetary donations can be made when registering online through Eventbrite. Monetary donations can also be made by those not able to attend.
Organizers of events such as this often have professional photographers take pictures during the event. Many of the photos are taken to local Print shops and used in the organizers’ advertising or as part of their community outreach programs.
The Gingerbread House Contest and Movie will be Saturday, December 11. Doors open at 3:00 pm at 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold. The contest will begin at 3:30 pm. A Christmas-themed movie will be screened afterward.
