Manalapan runs for fun

The 5th Annual Project ZERO 5k Fun Run/Walk, a fundraiser for The Manalapan-Englishtown Community Alliance, will be held in late April.

Adult single runners and walkers can register for $20 until April 19, when fees will go up to $25. Families with three or more members can register for $50 until this date, and for $60 after it. Teens 18 and under can register for $15 if before the date, or $20. The Health Department will have special discounts for groups. Race T-Shirts sporting the event Logo Design are guaranteed to those who register before April 19.

The course will be on the 5K loop behind the tennis and basketball courts at the Manalapan Recreation Center, 93 Freehold Road on Route 522. The beginning and finish line will be at the foot of the loop.

Even though the run will be mainly just for fun, there will be recognition medals for the first three finishers in the women, girls under 15, men, and boys under 15 categories.

Businesses like to send teams to events such as this not only to support the community and build employee spirit, but to use the event as part of their advertising campaigns in brochure printing, and media exposure.

The Project Zero 5k Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 starting at 9:30 am. The event will be held rain or shine.
