Manalapan off to the fair

Everyone here in Manalapan involved with 4-H will be heading to the 45th annual Monmouth County Fair this month. The five-day event will be possible due to the efforts of the Monmouth County 4-H Association and the Monmouth County Park System.

The organizers of the 2019 Monmouth County Fair Home and Garden Competition have been busily getting their brochure printing done and the brochure is now available for those entering the crafting, gardening, and baking categories.

Entertainment will be on the main stage and will include the Big House Band on Thursday, Jake’s Rockin’ Country Band on Friday and School of Rock, and The Spirit of Asbury Revue on Saturday. The Last Whippoorwill Band will close the fair on Sunday.

The Agricultural tent will offer Robinson’s Racing Pigs, Hell on Wheels, Indian River Old Time Lumberjack Show, and Monmouth County Firefighter’s Competition.

The Living History tent will have Logging with Horses, lacemaking demonstrations, and the Jugtown Mountain Band.

Reithoffer Shows will be providing the carnival rides again this year. Weekday wristbands will be $25 per day and weekend prices will go up to $30.

This year’s Monmouth County Fair will take place from Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28 at the East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold. Hours Wednesday through Friday will be 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm, Saturday’s will be 11:00 am until 11:00 pm, and Sunday’s will be from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm.
