The Manalapan Arts Council will be presenting its second free Manalapan Summer Concert in a couple of weeks. Everyone is invited to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the show. This one will be Beatlemania Again Live in Concert.
The program will be divided into three acts. The program will begin with the group’s debut in 1964 on the Ed Sullivan Show with ‘All My Lovin’’, and this will be followed by songs from the ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ psychedelic era such as ‘With a Little Help From my Friends’ and ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’. It will conclude with the last year the band was together performing from their albums ‘Abbey Road’ (‘Come Together’, ‘Here Comes the Sun’, and ‘Octopus’s Garden’) and ‘Let it Be’ (‘Get Back’, ‘The Long and Winding Road’, and ‘Maggie Mae’).
Alan Lefoeuf will be portraying Paul McCartney, Rick Morello will take te role of drummer Ringo Starr, George Harrison will be represented by Tom Godsman, and John Lennon’s part will be played by Dave Pal.
Fans of the original group will be digging around their attics for original Posters and Promotional Products depicting the Fab Four that they can take to the performance to reminisce with family and friends.
Beatlemania Again is scheduled for August 17 on the Great Lawn, West Gate Entrance of Manalapan Parks and Recreation at 120 County Road 522 beginning at 7:30 pm and winding down around 10:00 pm.
