March is quickly approaching, and that means St. Patrick’s Day. All Manalapan is invited to Downtown Freehold, which will be holding its annual Downtown Freehold Irish Week and parade.
The Freehold Borough Arts Council will be holding is 7th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade a few days before the day itself. The route this year will start at McLean Street and end at the Elks Lodge. All entries will no doubt be busily getting their banner printing done in the next few weeks. An after party will be at the lodge and will feature the Joe Baracata Band.
Traditional bagpipers will fill the air with the wail of bagpipes throughout the week. All the bagpipers will be playing in the downtown area on Bagpipes on Friday night.
Then, there will be two days of Flavor of Freehold, which will be a tour of downtown shops and restaurants. Shamrock passports will guide walkers to participating Freehold establishments, where participants will receive samples of each store’s signature food and/or drink.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will assemble at noon and step-off at 1:00 pm on March 11. The after party will be at the Elks Lodge 1454 at 73 E. Main Street. The Flavor of Freehold will be held Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm, and Bagpipes Night will be Friday, March 16.
