Manalapan born to run this month

Many Manalapan runners will be heading to Freehold after Thanksgiving to compete in the annual Born to Run 5 Mile Race.

Registration and packet pickup can be done at Runner’s High, 130 Schanck Road, Freehold from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday and from noon until 5:00 pm on Wednesday Thanksgiving week or paper applications can be requested on the race website. No registration will be available on race day. Registration will be limited to the first 450 applicants.

Swag includes finisher medals, bandanas, chip-timing, and sweatshirts sporting this year’s graphic design. Runners will also gain access to the Vendor Expo, which will take place starting at 9:30 am in the parking lot at the Hall of Records.

A 1-Mile Race and Kids’ Dash is scheduled for 10:00 am and will take place at the intersection of Court Street and Lafayette Streets on race day.

Title sponsors and Main Street Banner sponsors need to get their logo designs to the race committee before the banner printing gets done.

The out-and-back scenic course starts in Historic Freehold’s downtown at Lafayette Street next to the Court Street Parking Lot, then goes through Topanemus Park and back to the Hall of Records.

Awards will go to overall race winners, race winners in each age categories, and to the overall top three male and female walkers.

Born to Run 5 Mile Race will be Friday, November 27 at 11:00 am.
