Manalapan senior artists are submitting their original work to the Monmouth County 2020 Senior Art Show coming in August. This year the event will be held virtually.
Artwork must be done by artists 60 years old or older who live in Monmouth County. The work must be original, have been created over the last three years, and not have been in the previous county and state competitions.
Categories include Print (etching, linoleum, lithograph, silkscreen, and engraving), watercolor, oil, photography, chalk or oil pastel, mixed-media, hand-drawn work, digital art, original crafts, and acrylic. The photography category will accept digital, traditional film, pinhole, color, or black-and-white, as well as photographs that have been digitally manipulated.
A professional and non-professional winner will be announced in each of the 11 categories. These winners will have their work entered into the 54th Annual State Senior Art Show.
Winners in virtual events can put digital pictures of themselves, their entries and their awards on jpeg and send them to online Print shops or Stationery printers to be made into hard Copies, notecards or become part of a yearly family calendar.
Judging will be done July 31 and winners will be notified August 3. Winners will be announced in a livestream reception on Wednesday, August 12 at noon on the Monmouth Arts Facebook page and the Monmouth County Library System website. The show will be open to the public online from August 7 through September 4.
