Earth Day is coming April 22 and the area will be celebrating it later in the month.
Port Monmouth will have activities at the Bayshore Waterfront Park Activity Center. An interactive tell–and–touch program will help guests discover and learn interesting facts about coastal animals such as crabs, sea turtles, whales, and plankton.
Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown will be open so guests can view the floral beauty and native plants. Naturalists will be answer questions about becoming earth-friendly gardeners.
Huber Woods Environmental Center will have a program that will focus on reptiles and New Jersey’s nature artifacts. Fresh water pond creatures will be on display and interactive exhibits will be in the center.
The Freneau Woods Visitor Center in Aberdeen Township will be open so people can stroll around the park with a naturalist. Four walks – at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm 2:30 pm, and 4:00 pm will take people through the park looking for wildlife, buds, wildflowers, and other spring sights that can be found in the park’s wood and wetlands. Stationery printers commonly use spring pictures taken at places such as these for Holiday Cards, personal Stationery, and Letterheads.
Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell will also have displays, animal shows, and trails open to explore the wetlands and woods around the reservoir.
Earth Day in the Manalapan area will be from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 27th.
