New Jersey’s Rugged Maniac 5K Obstacle course will be coming to the Manalapan area in mid-July.
More than 25 obstacles along the 5K course will include fire jumps, giant inflatables, rope clings, a three-story waterslide, upside-down monkey bars, and lots of mud.
Obstacles will have names such as Cliff Hanger, Vertigo, Rinse and Repeat, Spiderweb, Launch Pad, and Hang Loose. New additions this year will be the Over, Under and Out (when participants go over wall into mud), Great Escape (a chain-link fence wall), Tipsy Timber (a balance beam), and Grip of Steel (a hanging rock wall).
Waves limited to 200 runners will leave the starting line every 15 minutes starting at 9:00 am. Registration is $84 and can be done on the event website. Participants must be at least 12 years old.
Swag will include high-quality tech shirts featuring this year’s black event Logo Design, free photos, and race medal bottle openers.
The free post-race party will be a daylong event with sponsors giving away Promotional Products, free games including pie-eating, stein-hoisting, dance-off contests, and food.
The 2022 Rugged Maniac New Jersey is supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Many participants are either donating individually or as a team on the event website, while others are using the event as a St. Jude fundraiser by getting pledges.
The 2022 Rugged Maniac will take place at Raceway Park, 230 Pension Road, Englishtown on July 16.
