Fall celebrated with festival and pumpkin carving contest

The New Jersey Angels organization is celebrating fall this October with a free Fall Festival including a pumpkin carving contest. Proceeds will go to benefit the local foster care program.

There will be The Garden’s Tulip Tree Café treats and beverages for purchase, and children 12 and under can come in their Halloween costumes to take part in the 6:30 pm parade. The parade will stop at stations where kids can collect candy.

Manalapan guests are encouraged to carve their own pumpkins and bring them for the Carved Pumpkin Contest. Entry fee for each pumpkin will be $5 and registration will be from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Prizes will be awarded in six categories. Pumpkins designed and carved by kids younger than 11 years old will be entered in the Classic Jack category. A professional category will be judged on use of pumpkin and creativity.

Pumpkins that win awards such as these often become the subjects of pictures sent to local Stationery printers to be included in family Calendars.

Pumpkins may be picked up as soon as each category winner has been announced. Those still there at 8:30 pm will be donated.

New Jersey Angels Fall Festival and Pumpkin Carving Contest will be Friday, October 30 from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Calgo Gardens, 462 Adelphia Road, Freehold.
