Turkey day choices abound in Hohokus area

Many restaurants in the area of Hohokus are offering distinctive meals for Thanksgiving Day. Each one is most likely turning to some kind of printing service to announce these offerings to those in their respective communities, so people can plan and make reservations well in advance.

At the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern, there will be two available options: an a la carte seasonal autumn menu of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, or a classic turkey dinner of three courses with all the traditional fixings. These meals will be from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

The Bernards Inn in neighboring Bernardsville has a tradition at Thanksgiving, serving a lavish Grand Buffet that includes its oven-roasted Griggstown turkey with all the trimmings plus selections of seafood, beef, and pasta. There are seatings beginning at 11:30 am and running until 5:30 pm. The Inn also has a three-course, prix-fixe dinner from 12:30 pm to 7:00 pm and features many chef creations of the season, including roulade of Griggstown pheasant and crispy day-boat cod.

The Crystal Springs resort in Hamburg also has many options for Thanksgiving. There will be a buffet lunch menu with live entertainment in the Black Bear Ballroom at the Black Bear Golf Cub from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm and a three-course, prix fixe dinner menu at the Crystal Tavern at the Grand Cascades Lodge from 11:30 am to 10:00 pm. This includes a special menu for children.
