Hohokus garden group hosts sale
The Hohokus Garden Club is once again putting together its annual Plant Sale. The traditional event features local vegetation and education in an effort to raise money for a good cause.
The aim of the Garden Club is to help improve both personal gardens as well as the overall beauty of the town by providing a wide variety of plants that suit the environment as well as sharing tips and techniques for gardening in New Jersey. Though they meet monthly, the plant sale is their largest organized event and the single fundraiser they host during the year. Proceeds from the sale go to provide scholarships to local students who are studying botany, horticulture, or environmental science.
The sale will be held on the Town Green and will feature a wide array of plants at various stages of development. Visitors can find flowers, trees, vegetables, and more at every level, from seed to fully grown, as well as fertilizer, soil, pots, and tools. During the event, members of the Garden Club will also be on hand to discuss the best practices for growing the plants available.
The Annual Plant Sale will be held on May 20 from 9:00 am to noon at the Town Green in central Hohokus. Admission is free to the public. Anyone looking for more information should check the flyers or contact the Garden Club directly.
