What's Happening in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ…

Hohokus families to participate in morning of STEM fun

Hohokus families will soon find out just how much fun it can be to learn about science.

Late January will see the Oakland Public Library host a day that will be all about the STEM (science, technology, engineering. math) subjects, and it will be family friendly. The facilitator for the activity will be John the Science Guy, and everyone will be offered a chance to perform three different experiments.

The hands-on learning will include creating a pair of lungs that demonstrate how they work as well as launching their own mini rocket and crafting a dancing dry eraser. These experiments have been chosen because they are simple, fun, and demonstrate some basic scientific principles, and the attendees will also be treated to some light refreshments as part of the workshop.

Admission to this in-person event is free, and it will run for two hours. Libraries and museums that offer special activities to their patrons and the wider community can count on being able to order a wide assortment of custom materials from area stationery printers, along with promotional pens and the items to distribute.

The Oakland Public Library, which can be found at 2 Municipal Plaza, will be welcoming families for this event on Saturday, January 28. Check-in for the activity will open at 9:45 am.
