Fall underway with festival in the park

Bergen County is about to celebrate the start of autumn by having a 4-H and master gardener fall festival at Van Saun Park.

The event is designed to allow members of the 4-H an opportunity to showcase the works of their green thumbs, which have been works in progress for about a year now. The event also allows interested residents and visitors to gain a wealth of advice and information relevant to good horticulture techniques and practices.

There will be a host of other things to do and see at the park, because the display is a part of the annual county fair. This year, the celebration will feature a craft fair, archery, farmers’ market, face painting, carnival rides, pumpkin picking, and a midway. For the animal lovers, there will be small farm animals and a chick hatching display.

Vendors on the premises might benefit from the use of Banners and Flyers that will help inform and direct guests who are present for the event. There will also be live demonstrations including beekeeping, K9, self-defense, and bonsai. Finally, there will be performances by Mad Science, a magician, Irish steppers, and several bands.

All of the action will be packed into two days this weekend, October 8-9, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in Van Saun Park, located at 215 Forest Avenue, just seven miles south of Hohokus.
