The Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation will hold a workshop in December at the AAA MidAtlantic in Hamilton.
Traffic Engineering Studies is an in-person program where engineers, street superintendents, and public works officials can learn how to identify safety problems and potential solutions. Those who complete the workshop will be able to determine where traffic studies can be used and understand how to conduct speed studies. Attendees will also be taught about traffic restrictions that are specific to New Jersey. The presenter of the class is George Fallat. State programs offering workshops such as this may use brochure printing to give their registrants educational materials to bring home.
The workshop is part of the State of New Jersey’s Local Technical Assistance Program (NJLTAP). The program is a network of centers that provide information about roads and bridges to local agencies. The facilities also host workforce development classes and create training materials. The Federal Highway Administration and the New Jersey Department of Transportation help fund the program. The centers train more than 3,000 transportation professionals each year.
The workshop will take place on Friday, December 15 from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Students do not need to take any courses before signing up for the Traffic Engineering Studies program. All participants must register for the class in advance. Guests are not allowed to smoke at the training venue.
