The township of Hamilton will be providing a means for residents to ecologically dispose of their personal paper products.
The 2025 Residential Free Paper Shredding Event is only open to individuals, so no businesses are allowed to participate. The primary intentions are to reinforce the benefits associated with reduced paper consumption, and to offer a responsible way to discard items considered to be waste.
Paper, file folders, binders, Books, magazines, and similar Stationery will be collected. Other substances – including plastic cases, perishables, metals, and computer hardware – will not be accepted.
Events such as this tend to use a variety of strategies to summarize what visitors can expect. Nearby printing services, banner ads, online posts, and Brochures are some examples that organizers have employed in the past. Any printed materials can also be recycled throughout the day, and most modern printers are vetted to the highest of environmental standards.
The 2025 Residential Free Paper Shredding Event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 27 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, rain or shine. It will be hosted at the Hamilton Police Headquarters located at 1270 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd. Residents are asked to bring proof of their identity and address, such as a tax bill, a recent utility statement, or a valid driver's license. There is no cost to attend the event.
