Young people in Concord tap into creativity

Arts on Tap, the branch of the Cabarrus Arts Council aimed squarely at young professionals in the Concord area, is getting its latest event ready. Craft Beer and Clay is a creative workshop and beer tasting event rolled together with demonstrations and more.

The event will begin with a full run through of the brewing process by the Cabarrus Brewing company. The microbrewery will go over the ingredients and methods that go into producing some of this year’s signature craft beers, while also providing a tasting of its work in its signature custom Drinkware.

After the tasting is over, visitors will then be treated to a complete pottery creation demonstration by local artist Stephanie Gainer, who will go through the process from throwing to firing. Guests will be able to work on their own special projects alongside Gainer and will then wind up with their own special souvenir to take home with them. In this way, the event serves to celebrate the creativity in the community, while also providing a networking opportunity for young professionals in the area.

Craft Beer and Clay will take place on February 13 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Cabarrus Arts Council Building, located at 65 Union St. Admission is free for Arts Council members and $20 for general admission, with special recognition provided to Council members who attend.
