Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, Cabarrus County Government, and the city of Concord are hosting a Fall Safe Disposal Event later this month.
The event that is free, held every two years, and designed specifically for residents. This is an opportunity for residents to dispose of sensitive documents in a confidential way, which can include medical records and tax Forms. Lithium-ion batteries, expired or unused medications, and electronic items are also accepted in an environmentally safe and friendly manner.
It will take place at West Cabarrus High School on Weddington Road to accommodate the increased size of the event. It will be carried out in a drive-thru style.
Each person can bring no more than five bankers’ Boxes or trash Bags of paper. Computers, televisions, and other such devices will be accepted as electronic waste. Expired and unused medications will be accepted by the city of Concord Police Department, who will be on site. There is no limit on the number of lithium-ion batteries that can be brought to the event, but batteries should be in a clear and sealed plastic bag.
Such events can be promoted throughout a city with poster printing, which can provide further details on acceptable items, procedures for drop-off, and other details.
The Fall Safe Disposal Event will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24.
