Concord becomes home to freestanding emergency room

The new freestanding emergency room of Atrium Health is now open in Concord.

The Concord Freestanding Emergency Department of Atrium Health is on John Q. Hammons Drive. It has 10 emergency department rooms, which includes one triage room and one trauma room. Emergency medical care will be available at the facility 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The facility spans more than 11,000 square feet and has advanced medical technologies that enable quick diagnosis and treatment. It is equipped with imaging services such as a portable ultrasound, CT scanner, and fixed X ray equipment.

Local Print shops can help inform residents about such new facilities and their features with Flyers and other printed materials.

The president of Atrium Health Cabarrus, Asha Rodriguez, said:

“The Atrium Health Concord Freestanding Emergency Department represents a significant investment in our community and teammates – not only does it expand access to high-quality emergency care closer to home, but it also provides nearly 100 new jobs for our community.”

Rodriguez added that given the rapid growth of the population along the Interstate 85 corridor, this location is particularly important as it adds a significant access point for emergency care. It will help to relieve pressure on the system’s other emergency departments, reduce waiting times, and deliver exemplary and efficient care for patients when they are in most need.
