Each year there are more than 600 communities across the USA that demonstrate their support of victims of Alzheimer’s disease. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the biggest event in the world designed to bring awareness to the disease and at the same time generate financial support for research that aims to eradicate the epidemic.
To support the campaign find the location of the nearest walk, get registered online as either a team captain, a team member, or as an individual. Anyone can participate, and all are encouraged to do so. The higher the number of participants, the greater the level of support and the stronger the push for a cure.
Many businesses in Downtown Concord have already shown their support by wearing and displaying the color purple, the campaign’s color, on June 21 to bring early awareness to the walk that will be held on September 17, 2016, at the North Carolina Research Campus, near Concord.
Purple Banners, with the appropriate slogans, placed in highly populated areas could further the drive for a cure and prove to be very effective tools in the push for awareness and solicitation for the support of the community. Again, all are encouraged to demonstrate their support; for all support is welcome, and no amount of support is considered insignificant.
