Concord will be holding its annual tree lighting ceremony and Christmas parade later this month.
Such special holiday events can be promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
Featured at the tree lighting ceremony will be a kids’ zone, food trucks, a screening of The Grinch by Dr. Seuss, and musical performances. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Santa Land for photo opportunities.
Returning this year will be the Concord illuminated city vehicle display competition. This is a challenge for departments to design the most festive display of lights for the holiday using dump trucks, pick-up trucks, utility vehicles, garbage trucks, and other city vehicles. Visitors will be able to vote on their favorite display and the display that collects the most votes will win.
The tree lighting will be from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday, November 21 in the downtown area.
The Concord Christmas Parade will travel two miles through the downtown area, beginning at the intersection of Lake Concord Road and Church Street N and ending at Corban Avenue and Union Street. The stage for the judges will be across from the 1876 courthouse in downtown Concord. Cash awards will be given to schools, churches, school bands, and civic organizations.
The parade will begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 22.
