In just a few days, there will be a race at the Speedway that does not involve race cars or race car drivers.
Though this race has been categorized as a foot race, it is far from the traditional event of its kind; in fact, it is formally known as the Insane Inflatable 5k.
The three-mile course comprises a road on which competitors will run as usual, but also includes massive inflatable obstacles that both minor and adult competitors must negotiate.
Everyone is encouraged to compete. There is no weight limit, but there is a 42-inch height requirement that must be met by all participants. The event is group oriented, and both family teams and individual competitors may compete.
Event organizers are seeking individuals and organizations to be volunteers and promoters. Banners could be used to promote the event, as well as to mark the course.
Vendors will be on site to enhance the merriment, providing merchandise that will commemorate the occasion. The Insane Midway is the spot where competitors, family, and friends loll about eating and talking about the course. There will be food trucks, music, games and other activities in which guests might engage.
The event is set to occur this Saturday, November 5, whether it rains or shines. It is all going to happen at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.
