What's Happening in Concord, NC…

Jeff Gordon, who has won the NASCAR Sprint Cup four times, is retiring from driving but not from his association with racing or children’s health issues at his Concord-based hospital.

Gordon’s future plans include some possible broadcasting work for the sport that has brought him into the limelight. Additionally, he will continue to work supporting his Children’s Foundation, as well as the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital here in Concord.

Fundraising events for charities such as these usually require a variety of printing services, such as those provided by a flyer or poster printing company.

Earlier this month, the racing legend became the face of ‘Give Kids A Smile’, which is a program to help kids who might otherwise not receive the dental care they need. Gordon recalled his own childhood and having two root canals prior to his 12th birthday. Describing it as “a tough experience”, he hopes to enable more children to avoid the consequences of neglected oral healthcare.

Gordon’s farewell NASCAR season began in January and, as it winds down, he has expressed a desire to spend more time with his family. He admits that he will be staying busy, but is looking forward to having more say in how his time is scheduled. Undoubtedly, contributing his time to children's health issues will have a place in that schedule.
