Jaime Brown has been selected as the new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategist for the city of Concord.
Brown will collaborate with partners in the community and leaders of the city to create and implement programs, training, and other activities for employees and others, helping Concord continue to be a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and value. She will also serve as the liaison to the Concord United Committee, which was established to examine racial inequities in the policies, procedures, programs, and departments in the city.

Lloyd Payne, city manager, expressed his excitement about Brown joining the leadership team in the city. Payne added that her academic work and consulting experience will be important in enhancing both the external and internal efforts of the city to create a prosperous community for everyone.
Brown also expressed her excitement about creating DEI initiatives that will elevate the employee experience. Brown added that she understands the significance of this role in the community and hopes that she and the employees of the city will be able to create additional care and connections for residents, customers, and stakeholders in the community.
Brown has worked as a consultant in DEI for corporate and non-profit organizations and in higher education to enhance the experiences of staff and students.
