New airline and service introduced to airport in Concord

An airline and a new nonstop destination will be added to Concord-Padgett Regional Airport.

Avelo Airlines will be adding nonstop service between Tweed New Haven Airport in Connecticut and Concord.

Dirk Vanderleest, the aviation director for the airport, expressed his excitement about seeing the airport grow with the community. He said that this will be an ideal opportunity for the city and the airport itself.

Avelo said that this collaboration has been ongoing for many years. Trevor Yealy with Avelo said accessibility was the main attraction to the airport in Concord. He added that the parking lot is very close and facilitates customers getting in and out of the airport. He felt that the airline can bring its reliable service to this new location.

Bill Dusch, mayor of Concord, said that like the racing roots of the city, the city is growing fast and offers an abundance of recreation experiences, dining, shopping, and entertainment. He added that with the low rates offered by Avelo, visitors will have many opportunities to take advantage of what Concord and the metropolitan Charlotte area have to offer.

Highlights of the attractions and features of a city and region are often promoted with brochure printing.

The new route will begin on Wednesday, May 1 and will operate two times a week on Thursday and Sundays. The price for the flight will be $62 and will use a Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
