Locals take a time trip to the Renaissance era

Starting this month, history is going to come alive and folks who attend the Renaissance Festival will be able to relive the period of enlightenment that ended the dark ages.

Guest students and teachers will be able to visualize the jousting and falconry associated with the age that they study in both history and English classes.

The Renaissance Festival & Artisan Marketplace offers 12 stages on which there will be continuous live music, dance, comedy, and circus style entertainment. The pathways throughout the village come to life as over 500 costumed villagers will interact with guests. Those attending will be able to witness the glassblowing, blacksmithing, cobblers, potters, candle makers, leatherworkers, and sculptors that made up the merchant class that put an end to the feudal system. The Artisan Marketplace features over 100 vendors who might benefit from Banners that mark their location and promote their wares and goods. This event will provide a good opportunity for participants to find unique gifts for the upcoming holiday season as well.

All of the excitement will occur just 11 miles west of Concord, at 16445 Poplar Tent Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. Marketplaces run on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, starting today and continuing through November 20. Parking is free, and the event will occur rain or shine.
