Concord to host festival of many cultures

The Concord International Festival will be returning to the downtown this fall.

Mayor Bill Dusch expressed his excitement about partnering once again with El Puente Hispano to transform the streets of Concord into a wonder of flavors, sounds, sights, and colors that represent the diverse cultures of the city. He said that this has become an annual event, and the city is honored to celebrate the many places and people that make the city unique.

The festival will be a day of entertainment, shopping, fun for the family, and food that will feature music, dance, and food from around the world as well as a kids’ zone.

President of El Puente Hispano, Sandra Torres, said the festival is a colorful and vibrant celebration that brings many cultures together from around the world. Torres added that this will be a chance to engage in a unique experience and to enjoy the many cultures of the world without having to leave the city.

This year, El Puente Hispano will donate $200 to those booths participating in the event to help with the purchase of supplies and other materials. These booths will focus on displaying their traditions and cultures to help educate the community. Such booths may look to local Print shops to create Flyers and Brochures with more information about their backgrounds.

The festival will take place on Saturday October 5.
