Concord non-profit undergoes name change
Two housing projects, a new name, and new partners for construction have been announced by Concord Family Enrichment Association (CFEA).
CFEA will become WeBuild Concord with a new vision and mission. Board chair of WeBuild Concord and City of Concord Councilman, J.C. McKenzie, said that the new name solidifies the brand of the organizations. McKenzie added that the new name focuses on the pillar of the organization—the building of opportunities, partnerships, and homes. Logo design also often comes into play when such organizations undergo branding and name changes.
In addition, the organization is planning to construct several single-family and multi-family housing projects. Local companies from Concord and minority companies in the region have been selected for these projects. The construction management consultants for these projects are PresPro out of Cabarrus County and Harmon Construction, a minority-owned firm in the Charlotte metropolitan region.
The projects will include the construction of a townhouse development of 26 units, to be known as the Lincoln Street Townhomes Project, and will provide an opportunity for those earning less than 80 percent of the area median income to own a home. While these homes are being built, the city and WeBuild Concord will be partnering to construct several single-family homes. These projects are expected to get underway during the first and second quarters of this year.
