Residents in Concord and the surrounding areas are turning up and tuning in to the Charlotte Hamfest 2017. The event celebrates everything surrounding amateur radio and the people who operate it.
The festival will feature over 80 booths operated by dealers selling brand new equipment, such as transceivers, antennae, and band analyzers. A flea market will also be held on site where registered vendors can sell secondhand or third-party equipment, merchandising, and other goods. Over 300 tables have already been confirmed for the flea market, and it will take up over 32,000 square feet.
Additionally, a special area will be set up where radio operators can get their QSL cards checked, as well as get VE testing performed by WCARS.
Everyone who preregisters for the event will be entered into a drawing to be held on the first evening of the event. Prizes include Gift Certificates, custom Drinkware, professional grade cables, and even an Icom brand transceiver. A full list of prizes is available online.
The Charlotte Hamfest will be held on Friday, March 10 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, and Saturday, March 11, from 8:30am to 4:00pm at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, located at 4551 Old Airport Rd in Concord.
