The Cabarrus Arts Council located in downtown Concord will be hosting several creative and entertaining events next month.
Organizers of these kinds of activities often use flyer printing to attract attention and increase attendance.
Several classes will be held at the ClearWater Arts Center and Studios in Concord. The first is a class on creating custom batik fabric for a piece of clothing, a wall hanging, or quilt. Newspapers, brown paper grocery Bags, and fabric can be batiked with wax and color layering to create complex designs. This class will be held on Saturday, February 1 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
There will be a class on making necklaces. Participants will be able to shape their necklaces in any design and create short or long, casual or dressy necklaces. The class will be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 15.
A pastel workshop will enable for beginner or intermediate artists to study and apply pastel painting techniques. The workshop will be held from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 29.
An Art Walk and Artists Reception will be held so that visitors can tour the Tone exhibition at The Galleries in Concord at their own pace and then stroll through the downtown where many artists will be selling their work. This event will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, February 21.
