Christmas comes to Concord speedway

The Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord is hosting a Speedway Christmas this month.

This will be a series of classic Christmas films on the big screen. The high-definition television screen spans 16,000 square feet and ensures a perfect view can be seen by every guest. The audio will be available on a local FM station in viewers’ cars. There will be refreshments available for purchase to enable guests to enjoy a bite to eat during the screening. Flyer printing can be used to advertise and promote such special events.

Executive vice president and general manager at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Greg Walter, said that this is an ideal way to get into the spirit of Christmas, and will enable families to watch a classic movie on one of the largest high-definition televisions in the world. He said there will also be over four million sparkling lights that will be on display through the infield, around the track, and under the concourse. There will be lively holiday music that will be synchronized to the lights, and those traveling through the display can listen to it on their radios.

Movies are shown Thursday through Sunday evenings. Upcoming movies are “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” from December 10 through 13; “Frozen 2” from December 17 through 24; and “A Christmas Story” on Saturday, December 26 and Sunday, December 27.
