St. Louis to host storytelling festival

The St. Louis County Library will organize a multi-venue festival in November that celebrates the art of storytelling.

The St. Louis Storytelling Festival is an event where people can hear stories told by several talented presenters. There are several featured storytellers at the fest, including Charlotte Blake Alston, Adam Booth, and Claire Hennessy. The emcee for the program is Nestor Gomez, a storyteller from Guatemala and the winner of several Moth Slams. He is the creator and host of 80 Minutes Around the World, a show that shares the stories of immigrants and their descendants.

There will be many programs for people to attend throughout the festival. Capture Your Personal History is a workshop where attendees can use the Personal History Studio to preserve their family stories. There will also be presentations like Rhythms and Folklore of Africa, Voices of America, and Cuentos From the Americas. Those who wish to meet with the event’s storytellers can attend meet-and-greet sessions at the Clark Family Branch. People can also participate in a virtual workshop led by Delia Rainey.

The storytelling festival will be held from November 13th to November 23rd. All the events featured throughout the fest are free for the public to attend. Some of the presentations and workshops will require advance registration to join. Libraries that host fests like this may use banner printing services to promote their community programs.
