Health centers to take new approach

St. Anthony’s Medical Center (SAMC) has recently announced that it will terminate its pediatric department partnership with SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center (CGCMC) in the summer.

The joint working started back in 2003. At this point, SAMC got its pediatric care performed by physicians from CGCMC. SAMC has got nearly 800 beds, but the arrangement appears to have been mutually satisfactory.

The affiliation between the two health centers will be completed by the end of June. It may be appropriate for administrators to contact Stationery printers in St. Louis before that date so that local people can be kept in touch with the changes in question.

Beverly Bokovitz, a chief nurse within the presidential office of SAMC, has said:

“While there will be some decrease in cost, there will also be some added expense. We’re still figuring out the financials.”

The two hospitals are not situated in particularly close proximity to one another. SAMC is located within South County, while CGCMC is based in Midtown. It was reportedly SAMC that signaled its intent to bring the relationship to an end.

The decision is related to a move by which the emergency department in SAMC acquired backing from CEP America. This group should be in position to deliver physicians with expertise in pediatrics from July onwards. Bokovitz has stated that the new arrangement will begin at an appropriate time.
