Bringing country to St. Louis

An alternative-country band is coming to St. Louis, an event sure to make fans happy.

American Aquarium is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and got together there in 2006. They released “Antique Hearts,” their debut album, that year, and toured throughout the region, building a loyal following of local residents.

In 2008, they released “The Bible and the Bottle” and toured to support the release, performing more than 250 times in a single year, and increasing their fanbase far beyond North Carolina. They continued to build their reputation by recording and releasing albums at the average of one per year since they first got together. Their break came in 2012, when “Burn.Flicker.Die.,” the seventh album they produced in a studio, won high praise from American Songwriter Magazine.

The band is known for their use the slide guitar, which tends to produce a melancholy sound, coupled with spare drumming, and the the vocal work of BJ Barham, the band's frontman.

A review of one of their concerts said:

"The set list included everything you could ask for from the band . . . The mix of old and new stuff was a tight blend that works thanks to the constant energy.”

American Aquarium will be at the Delmar Hall in St. Louis at 8.00 pm on July 24. Brochure printing can be used to create programs for concerts such as this.
