Local company makes polyurethane acquisition

Maryland Heights-based Accella has helped its parent company Arsenal to make a deal in polyurethane foam.

Arsenal is buying a piece of Covestro LLC – more specifically in its market in spray foam – at a cost that has not been disclosed. The final parts of the purchase will conclude in the second quarter

Covestro LLC will continue to concentrate on the business aspects so its employees that work with the foam can be integrated into Accella. According to the President and CEO of Accella, Andy Harris, the purchase is the next phase in bringing together the polyurethane businesses for which Accella is known, and he believes it will put the company on a higher level in the market.

The company plans to concentrate on growth and investment from now on in order to meet demand. Vice President Chris Brink stated that Accella will promote spray polyurethane foam as the optimum insulation for modern commercial and residential buildings.

Accella is the combination of 13 businesses Arsenal has bought over the years. It has manufacturing operations in three continents, involved the manufacture of casting resins, tire fill, adhesives, surface coatings, and specialty coatings as well as spray foam.

Employees working in marketing and sales will want to let their clients know that Accella and Covestro are working together in the spray foam industry. Professional business card printing will help spread the word.
