Maryland Heights prepares for community painting party

The Greater St. Louis Association of the Deaf in Maryland Heights will host a themed painting experience for families in October.

The Halloween Paint Party is an event where families can get creative with help from talented art instructors. There will be food served during the painting session, and guests can enjoy refreshments and live music. The event is organized by the WomxnCircle Social Club, an organization that wishes to create an inclusive community for local deaf and hard-of-hearing women. The group has also organized events like Chicken ‘N Pickle and the Garden Luncheon.

The painting party is also co-organized by the St. Louis Metro Black Deaf Advocates. The chapter was established in 2016, and its current president is Tiara S. Mason. The group is part of the National Black Deaf Advocates (NBDA), an organization that advocates for those who are deaf. The NBDA has partnered with organizations like the National Association of the Deaf, Gallaudet University, and the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

The Halloween-themed painting activity will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets to the program will cost $10 for children and $30 for adults. Those interested in being part of the painting session must register by October 4th. Groups that hold art projects like this may advertise their events by going to print shops to make flyers and posters.
